nightlife reopens during daylight hours after four months of closure due to the coronavirus

The Generalitat has published the resolution that allows nightlife venues reopen during the day like the rest of the bars and restaurants, until twelve at night, to continue with their usual activity. That is, they will not be able to transform their establishment to develop another form of restoration different from the one they had four months ago.

Pubs and discos can open from this Wednesday with the capacity restricted to half on terraces and one third indoors. Consumption in the bar or on the dance floors is also not allowed and customers will have to be seated at tables of maximum six people.

The Consell ordered the closure of the sector on August 18 due to the outbreaks of coronavirus that were happening in this type of establishment. Now, as stated in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat (DOGV), «they will be able to carry out catering and hotel activities compatible with your license or authorization -specific service of drinks or beverages and meals- at the time that corresponds to them for their activity “, always following the security measures dictated by the pandemic and the limitations of both capacity and hours.

The text also specifies that the party halls, discotheques and dance halls of the Valencian Community must present a responsible declaration in their respective Town Councils in which they confirm that the dance floors are occupied by tables and chairs, keeping the gauges and distances in accordance with health regulations. In no case may this space be used to dance.

The Government of Ximo Puig reached an agreement with nightlife businessmen last Friday after weeks of pressure in which they even announced an indefinite camping trip in front of the Palau de la Generalitat, desperate for the situation of their businesses closed for months without institutional response .

From FOTUR they have shown «very satisfied with the work and the result obtained together with the rest of the sector and the administrations of Health, Tourism and Entertainment ”. They have also sent a message to “all those who decide to open.” “We must be more diligent than ever, and comply with each and every one of the hygienic-sanitary measures. We are prepared for it “and” we continue to work on rescue for leisure, “they explained in a statement.
