The Generalitat Valenciana announces a modification of the restrictions in sports venues




The Generalitat will modify the restrictions in force due to the pandemic of coronavirus that affect the celebration of sporting events in the Valencian Community, raising the capacity in outdoor venues to one hundred percent and eighty percent in closed facilities such as pavilions, in accordance with the measures approved this Wednesday, September 29 by the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System (CISNS).

The second phase of the de-escalation by the Covid-19 approved by the Executive who presides Ximo Puig began last Tuesday with the elimination of the limit of spectators in large events, but maintaining a maximum capacity of sixty percent in outdoor venues and forty in closed spaces, provided that it was sports competitions.

Just one day after this easing of restrictions due to the pandemic of the coronavirus on the Valencian Community, the Interterritorial Health Council, made up of the Ministry of Health and the autonomous communities, has unanimously approved the return of full capacity in the stadiums of soccer and eighty percent in pavilions of basketball and handball from Friday, October 1 and valid until the 31st of the same month.

The new measures against the coronavirus affect, among other competitions, the Professional Football League (LFP) and the Association of Basketball Clubs (ACB), which in the case of Valencian sport will increase the capacity of the Valencia CF, Levante UD, Elche CF stadiums and the pavilion where Valencia Basket plays its home games.

The new regulations, which have been accepted by the Ministry of Health As “an important step” to move towards a scenario of “maximum normality possible”, it requires an interpersonal separation between attendees of 1.5 meters, as well as that the spectators are preferably subscribers and, in extension, local public.

The Minister of Health, Ana Barcelo, has announced that between this Wednesday and Thursday the new resolution will be published with the specific modifications on the capacity in the sports venues of the Valencian Community.

It has also confirmed that the mandatory use of the face mask, that you cannot consume food or drink except water, at the same time that you cannot smoke and that a rigorous control of entrances and exits will be carried out to avoid crowds.
