The Polytechnic University of Valencia As of October 7, it becomes a vaccination center against the coronavirus, according to the request of the Conselleria de Sanidad Universal y Salud Pública. The action is framed in the context of collaboration established with the universities “that obtained such a good result in the vaccination of Erasmus students”, according to the Valencian Government.

The campaign kicks off next Thursday at the Vera campus and is open to anyone from the university community that, for different reasons, it has not been possible to be immunized up to now, both national and foreign students, as well as its own personnel, workers of contractors and external companies and even close associates.

“The objective is to give all the facilities to those people who want to be vaccinated and have not yet been able to do so. We will enable different spaces, depending on the response we get, and we will cite the interested parties. We hope to even reach family members and acquaintances “, explains the vice-rector for Social Dialogue, Prevention, Conciliation and Sports of the UPV, Santiago Guillem.

To do this, the vaccine against coronavirus from Pfizer-BioNTech. The first dose will be inoculated and, at 21 days, the cycle will be completed with the second puncture. The campaign will be in charge of the health personnel of the Juana Portaceli Health Center of the UPV and will be carried out in the campus facilities, specifically in the medical service itself located in the Trinquet Politècnic El Genovés or in the sports hall, according to the needs of each moment.

People who want to be vaccinated should go preferably having requested the health card at their Health Center SIP. If this is not possible, the UPV health personnel will register them in the system at the time of vaccination and, subsequently, users will be able to pick up the card at their center to download the vaccination certificate.

This new operation has as a precedent the campaign carried out in July this year, when the UPV vaccinated the 960 students who are now participating in international exchanges. Back then, the vaccine was used ModernTherefore, the student body received the second dose at four weeks, during the first days of August.
