The Community of Madrid will give aid of up to 3,000 euros to install solar panels and energy batteries in homes individuals and neighborhood communities. Grants may also benefit companies, freelancers, non-profit organizations and public administrations. They can be requested from November 16.
This is a new call for these grants, which was announced this Friday by the regional president, Isabel Diaz Ayuso, during his visit to the Repsol Technology Lab. The initiative is endowed with 87 million euros, and included in the regional Plan for Decarbonisation and Environmental Care.
Expert calculations estimate that with these aid solar devices will be installed capable of reducing consumption in a single-family home by up to 70 percent, and halving the electricity bill. There will be also additional incentives in the case of municipalities with less than 5,000 inhabitants, to promote this type of action.
Panels and batteries
The grants will be used for the installation of both solar panels and energy storage batteries and renewable thermal systems. The objective is reduce emissions in the residential area, which produces 32 percent of CO2 that goes into the atmosphere.
“The measure will promote renewable energy, and therefore self-consumption and storage equipment,” said the regional official. The deadline to request these grants will end on December 31, 2023. The item to cover your payment comes from the funds of the European Union Recovery and Resilience Mechanism.
The installation of new equipment for photovoltaic and wind generation for self-consumption, with or without storage, the incorporation of storage systems in existing facilities, and the implementation of solar thermal, biomass, geothermal, hydrothermal or aerothermal for air conditioning and sanitary hot water in homes.
For a single family home, the Average cost of installing solar panels is between 5,000 and 7,000 euros. These incentives reduce this price to approximately half. The amount of the aid will be determined according to the chosen power, the technical characteristics of each installation and the nature of the beneficiary.
In the case of the implantation of photovoltaic self-consumption, the incentives reach 600 euros per kilowatt peak (kWp) for the residential sector and 1,000 euros / kWp, for public administrations and Third Sector. The incorporation of storage systems is subsidized with contributions of up to 490 euros / kWp.
For the services sector and other productive sectors, the programs establish a percentage of the total eligible cost, which depends on the power of the installation. Regarding the thermal renewables in the residential sector, the aid varies depending on the technology installed. The realization of aerothermal installations is subsidized with 500 euros per kilowatt (kW), up to a maximum of 3,000 euros per home.
The installation of solar thermal receives aid of up to 900 euros / kW (with a maximum of 1,800 euros). Biomass boilers up to € 250 / kW (with a maximum of € 3,000 per home), and geothermal boilers can reach € 2,250 / kW (up to € 13,500 per home).
In addition, for all lines of action of these programs, additional contributions are contemplated to those made in municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants. Information on these grants, as well as additional documentation on the requirements and application procedures, are now available for consultation on the website of the Fundación de la Energía de la Comunidad de Madrid.
