The Conselleria de Sanidad Universal y Salud Pública has announced this Monday that it is going to install two mobile vaccination sites against coronavirus in Benidorm, coinciding with the celebration of the Major Patron Festivities, from November 13 to 17. One in the center and another specific for foreign tourists.
With the latest data released by the Generalitat Valenciana, the Alicante municipality continues in a situation of extreme risk, with a cumulative incidence in 14 days of 272.53 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and 192 positives detected in that period, although from the hotel group Hosbec, the hoteliers of Abreca and the city Hall They reduce credibility to that rate by not counting the floating population, which is tripled by the official census, according to their calculations.
The first vaccination point will be at the Museu L’Hort de Colón, located on Tomàs Ortuño street. It will open its doors this Tuesday, November 9, and will be operational every day (weekends included) until Monday, November 15, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
«It is a device enabled in full city center to facilitate the vaccination of those who, for whatever reason, have pending immunization. It opens a few days before the Patron Saint Festivities to try to stagger the influx of people, and it will remain during the main events “, explained the managing director of the Department of Health Marina Baixa, Rosa Louis Cereceda.
This service is designed for people who have not yet been vaccinated against the coronavirus or have a dose of the vaccine pending.
Starting Tuesday, November 16, the mobile vaccination team will travel to Foreign Tourist Service of Benidorm, in the Corner of Loix, the largest neighborhood in the city and also especially busy. The opening hours will be the same as the Museu L’Hort de Colón, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This second vaccination point will remain open depending on demand. “It is an enclave of the city with a massive influx of people, especially foreigners, and we will keep it for as long as it takes depending on the response we get. The objective is to continue expanding vaccination coverage against the coronavirus ”, added Cereceda.
Search for the unvaccinated
The movement of mobile teams to very crowded enclaves of Benidorm is in tune with other initiatives launched after the completion of the mass vaccination in the 133 points distributed by the Valencian Community, according to the Generalitat.
