Linhart in Uzbekistan – “Humanitarian corridor” to Afghanistan planned

Uzbekistan is holding out the prospect of a “humanitarian corridor” to bring this aid to neighboring Afghanistan, said Foreign Minister Abdulasis Kamilow on Monday after a meeting with his Austrian counterpart Michael Linhart (ÖVP) in the capital Tashkent. This corridor is supposed to bring the relief supplies across the border. “We know that the situation in Afghanistan is difficult and we want to avoid an internal escalation,” said Kamilow. Uzbekistan is a very important partner in the region, affirmed Linhart. The aim is the common fight against terrorism, organized crime and human trafficking.
