Zambrano, Almódovar, Bollaín, León de Aranoa or Barrena, in the CiBRA poster that starts this Friday




The Toledo Theater of Rojas will host on Friday, November 12, the preview of the director’s latest film Benito Zambrano, ‘Lemon bread with poppy seeds‘, thus kicking off the XIII edition of the Festival of Cinema and Word, CiBRA, which includes the screening of the latest works by Pedro Almodóvar, Icíar Bollaín, Fernando León de Aranoa and Marcel Barrena.

The release of Zambrano’s film, an adaptation of the novel by Cristina Campos, will be attended by the director of the film, the writer and co-writer, and part of the artistic cast of the film.

This new edition of CiBRA will once again have as a stage Toledo and La Puebla de Montalbán between 12 and 21 Novemberand. The program, collected by Europa Press, reflects that in addition to the I Conference of the Audiovisual Industry of Castilla-La Mancha, which will be held between 12 and 14 in San Servando, the opening day will also be screened in Puebla de Montalbán the premiere of ‘Ama’ by Júlia de Paz Solvas.

On Saturday 13, in addition to the presentation at the Library of Castilla-La Mancha of the book ‘Lemon bread with poppy seeds’, it will be possible to see’ Mediterráneo ‘by Marcel Barrena, at Cinesur Luz del Tajo, and’ The world stopped ‘, by Marta López Blanco, in the Celestina Museum in La Puebla de Montalbán. Also in this town, ‘Parallel Mothers’, by Pedro Almodóvar, will be screened.

The day of Sunday 14 also takes place in this town where ‘The fisherman of dreams’, by Juan Carlos Montero and ‘Maixabel’, by Icíar Bollaín will be exhibited.

On Monday the 15th the festival recovers the stage of Rojas, to screen ‘Libertad’ by Clara Roque. Already on Tuesday, in La Puebla de Montalbán, you will be able to see ‘7 lakes, 7 lives’ by Víctor Escribano, and ‘A hero’ by Ashar Farhadi in the theater of the Toledo capital.

Wednesday’s session includes the presentation of the novel ‘Enjambre’ by Rafael Cabanillas at the Venta de Aires, and the screening of ‘Six days current’ by Neus Callús, in the Thalia room.

Yes, on Thursday 18, ‘Mediterráneo’ will be screened at the Casa de la Cultura in La Puebla de Montalbán, and the writer Manuel Vilas will hold a meeting with the public in Toledo’s Venta de Aires, on Friday it will be the turn of the screening of ‘El Good boss’, Fernando León de Aranao, and the Saturday of the last work of Benito Zambrano.

The final gala and the awards ceremony will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday 21 at the Palacio de Congresos de Toledo.

Film and education days

As usual, the Festival, which brings together Cinema and Literature, will once again have a cycle of ‘masterclasses’ with the presence of various professionals from the sector, as well as the MiniCiBRA so that the little ones can gradually introduce themselves into the seventh art.

This XIII edition will also feature once again the Film and Education Conference (in collaboration with the CRFP of the Castilla-La Mancha Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports and entities such as ECAM, Cero en conducta or ENCINE, among others). days in which CiBRA is the spearhead at the national level.

Among the novelties of the program there will be different talks, workshops and screenings such as the film ‘Mediterráneo’ by Marcel Barrena, who will also be present at the conference.

In addition, this year there will be a tribute to two of the most important national exponents of the film and education initiative, who are regular collaborators in these days of the Festival, such as Mercedes Ruiz and the scriptwriter Lola Salvador.

The latter will inaugurate the library that will bear his name and which will be located at the IES Sefarad in the capital of Toledo.

CiBRA, the Film and Word festival is supported by the Toledo City Council, the Castilla-La Mancha Community Board, the Provincial Council and the Puebla de Montalbán City Council.
