More and more corona patients: Berlin Charité postpones all plannable operations

The Berlin Charité has been postponing all planned operations since Tuesday due to the increasing number of corona patients to be treated.

Berlin – This step is necessary in order to deploy employees to corona stations again, the clinic announced on Tuesday. It is expected that the doctors and nurses will “again have a heavy workload”.

Emergencies and urgent interventions were exempt from the restrictions, it said. Currently, more than 120 patients are admitted to the Charité because of corona disease. In the course of the pandemic, the clinic had already reduced the number of plannable and non-urgent operations several times.
