SVS – 100 euros vaccination premium for farmers and self-employed

The self-employed and farmers get 100 euros if they can prove comprehensive vaccination protection. Your social insurance (SVS) pays out a corresponding bonus if you have not only completed the Covid vaccination, but all vaccinations recommended by the National Vaccination Committee. This was announced by SVS chairman Peter Lehner in an interview with APA.

The campaign is one-off and can be applied for from now until December 31, 2022 by all people who have health insurance with SVS. This also applies to co-insured persons (children, spouses) and pensioners. The vaccination card is valid as proof of vaccination. The applications can be submitted via the SVS online services. The mobile phone signature is required for this. Alternatively, the forms can also be submitted in the same way. The money does not come as a credit, but is transferred directly to the insured person’s account.

The Board of Directors of SVS unanimously approved the campaign and approved a total of 90 million euros for it. Lehner therefore spoke – based on individual measures – of the “largest prevention initiative in the history of social security”. The chairman emphasized that this creates an incentive system, it is about promoting prevention and promoting personal responsibility for health. And you want to draw attention to the fact that there is not only the Covid vaccination, but also others who have fallen behind.

Vaccinations from the national vaccination schedule

The selection of vaccinations is based on the recommendations of the national vaccination committee, which are set out in the Austrian vaccination plan 2021. Since the recommendations differ with age, they are clustered into three age groups: Children up to 15 must provide proof of vaccinations against influenza, HPV, TBE, pneumococci and the combination vaccinations for measles, mumps and rubella as well as diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, poliomyelitis and haemophilus. For people between 15 and 60, there are vaccinations against Covid-19 and TBE and the combination vaccinations measles, mumps, rubella and diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis and polio. Adults over 60 must provide proof of vaccinations against pneumococci, TBE, Covid-19 and influenza.

The SVS chairman, who is also chairman of the umbrella organization of social insurance providers, does not necessarily see an example for other health insurance providers. He points out that SVS policyholders pay their full insurance contribution themselves and that there is no employer contribution. In addition, the SVS is economically well positioned and can afford it with the contributions of the insured.

The action is advertised with the comprehensive campaign “Vaccinated Healthier” on the communication channels of the SVS. And this campaign is part of the comprehensive prevention strategy of the SVS. With the preventive care program, the self-employed can halve their deductible from 20 to ten percent if they achieve their health goals and halve it again to five percent if they pursue their health goals sustainably. There is also a “health hundred” to support various nutrition and exercise programs and a “safety hundred” to support training and courses on accident prevention and occupational safety. (apa)
