Berlin – Climate activists started blocking the A100 motorway in Berlin on Monday morning. According to dpa observation, the demonstrators of the “Save food – save lives” campaign initially occupied access and exits at the Beusselstraße junction. The road itself was then blocked. As a result, there were traffic delays. There were also actions in Hamburg.
The activists are calling for a law against food waste and an agricultural turnaround to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture. They call themselves “the uprising of the last generation”. (dpa)
