The Isabel Zendal Nurse Hospital It has come into operation this Friday with the arrival of the first patient, a 63-year-old woman referred from the Emergency Room of the Gregorio Marañón Hospital with Covid-19 pneumonia, whose prognosis is stable.
As reported by the Community of Madrid, the first patient of the new hospital of pandemics inaugurated by the president of the regional government, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, last Tuesday, December 1, it entered Hall 2 at 2.15 p.m. this Friday, December 11.
Patients to be admitted will be referred from the Emergencies of hospitals of the Madrid Health Service (Sermas). Upon arrival, they will be received by an admission team and will enter pavilion number 2, in the Puerta de Alcalá area, in a space equipped with 48 beds and 4 ICU posts.
For their part, a total of 106 professionals del Sermas, who have wanted to join this hospital, are already paying attention. The templates will be progressively completed with the 11,324 reinforcement contracts that the Ministry of Health has renewed until June 30, 2021, due to the current pandemic situation, which includes 1,067 physicians, 5,063 Nursing professionals and 3,274 auxiliary nursing care technicians.
In this sense, in addition to the 106 professionals who have requested their voluntary transfer, the following professionals hired to reinforce the pandemic have already been assigned to the hospital Covid-19: 22 orderlies, four administrative assistants, a pharmacy assistant, five senior technicians specializing in Radiodiagnosis, a specialist in Occupational Medicine and a senior technician in Occupational Risk Prevention.
The hospital, built in 100 days, has a total capacity of 1,008 inpatient beds organized in a modular way around nursing controls and 48 ICU posts, 16 for intensive care and 32 for intermediate care, that is, a total of 1,056 beds.
This new resource, which will allow the rest of the hospitals in the public healthcare charge network to be released by coronavirus, will assume the bulk of the care burden of hospitalizations in plant, with the conditions required by people suffering from Covid-19.
