Ifema Madrid Live aimed high as a novelty on the summer cultural agenda in the capital, with a program that included concerts by Los Planetas, Alan Parsons, Marta Sánchez, Ramoncín or the Tomavistas festival During the month of July. But the comparative injury suffered by live music compared to other events, which are beginning to be given more facilities, has forced a reversal in their plans.

“Given the difficulties and uncertainty that, in comparison with the rest of leisure alternatives, generate the continuous changes in the regulations applied to live music, it is not feasible to carry out the concerts that were to take place from 3 to 25 July “, explains the organization in a statement. By eliminating restrictions for other forms of leisure, the promoters of Madrid Ifema Live consider that they will lose a potential clientele who will prefer to go to discos or bars, and for that reason they prefer to wait for the hand to also open with concerts to compete on equal terms .

«The organization, as well as the external promoters, are working on its reprogramming. We regret the inconvenience this may have caused, “says the postponement statement, which clarifies that the information for buyers who have purchased tickets will be available at the official sales points of each concert.

Despite this setback, the promoter Planet Events reminds us that we are facing a general cancellation. “We are rescheduling most of the concerts. In fact, some of them, such as the Alan Parsons Project, will take place on the same day but in another space. Both the organization and the external promoters will be reporting shortly on the movements in each case. Likewise, we hope to soon enjoy live events with more favorable measures, as is already being done with other leisure alternatives. This will be beneficial for future shows “, explains Beatriz de la Guardia, communication director at Planet Events.

This month the space was going to have a capacity seated on the track and stands, with two types of format (2,000 or 3,800 people, adjustable depending on current regulations); wide distance strictly complying with sanitary measures, and in a scenic environment with the highest quality of sound and proximity to the show. This project came to meet the current needs of promoters and the live music sector, since the launch of IFEMA Madrid Live was aimed at revitalizing the live industry. In this first edition alone, the organization estimated that 250 direct jobs would be created in the city of Madrid.
