More than 5 million for the damage of storms in 64 municipalities




The Government of Spain is going to allocate a total of 5,157,262.43 euros to 64 municipalities of Castilla-La Mancha and the provincial councils of Cuenca, Guadalajara and Albacete mitigate the damage caused by storms that occurred between April 1, 2019 and March 31, 2020.

These grants are in addition to those already published in November of last year, which amounted to 3,187,803.39 euros for 35 municipalities of Castilla-La Mancha and the Albacete Provincial Council, making a total of 8,345,065.82 euros for many municipalities in our region.

In total, the Government of Spain has allocated 32,329,450.84 euros for the repair or restitution of municipally-owned infrastructure, equipment and facilities and services damaged by natural disasters in 11 autonomous communities between April 1, 2019 and April 31, March 2020, the Ministry has informed in a statement.

Strong rains

The aid has been in the province of Cuenca, as a result of the episodes of heavy rains that occurred on the 25th, 26th and 27th of August 2019.

In the provinces of Ciudad Real, Cuenca, Guadalajara, Toledo and Salamanca, for the serious events caused by a DANA between September 9 and 17, 2019; in the Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha, due to the significant rainy season between September 19 and 22, 2019.

In the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, due to the episode of intense rains, strong wind and floods on December 2 and 3, 2019; in the provinces of Huelva, Jaén, Albacete, Ávila, Burgos, León, Palencia, Valladolid, Zamora, A Coruña, Ourense and Pontevedra, as well as in the autonomous communities of the Principality of Asturias, Cantabria and Extremadura, due to the events caused by the storms Daniel, Elsa and Fabien between December 16 and 22, 2019.

The subsidies are intended to finance up to 50 percent of the cost of projects directly related to the claims included in the call, which are carried out by town halls, county councils, island councils, counties, mancomunidades and relative uniprovincial autonomous communities. to the repair or restitution of infrastructure, equipment or facilities and municipally owned services.

The amounts

In the province of Albacete four municipalities, plus the Provincial Council, will receive 2,125,048.85 euros, among which are 1,608,095.72 euros assigned to the provincial Corporation and the 316,000.86 euros that Molinicos will receive.

In the province of Real city Seven municipalities will receive a total of 516,216.66 euros, where the 396,621.69 euros that Argamasilla de Alba will receive stand out.

The province of Cuenca It will have 2,018,544.77 euros for subsidies to 42 municipalities and the Provincial Council, which receives the highest amount with 953,740.39 euros.

The province of Guadalajara 266,320.06 euros are assigned, of which 216,530.14 correspond to the Provincial Council and the rest will be received by four municipalities, Auñón, Alhóndiga, Fuentelviejo and El Recuenco.

And in the province of Toledo There are seven localities that will have 231,132.95 euros to alleviate the damage suffered by storms in September 2019.
