The first meeting of the Spanish Sailing League has had a clear protagonist: the RCN Arrecife team. Throughout the three days of competition, played at the Arenal Yacht Club, the Canarian team has been very solid in the water and has achieved the final victory after having crossed the finish line in first position in 14 of the 25 races completed.
Once again, the thermal wind from the Bay of Palma has provided the six participating teams in the Majorcan event with stable wind conditions that have increased in intensity throughout the day.
With the victory aimed, the group that represented RCN Arrecife, far from relaxing, has closed its participation with force; Despite starting the day with discreet results (3-5-4), he has won the last four rounds of the competition.
Ricardo Terrades, RCN Arrecife sailor, has been highly satisfied with the participation of the Lanzarote team. “For us, coming from the Canary Islands to the Balearic Islands is an effort that has been very worthwhile; we have enjoyed the regatta and we have also had some good heats ”. Terrades hopes to maintain the high level demonstrated in Mallorca when the Spanish Sailing League is resumed in Calpe: “We have a team that unites veteran and youth, and we want to repeat the victory of the first edition of this circuit.”
In second place in the general classification, the CN Arenal team has remained, which throughout the day has managed to increase its income compared to the RCN Valencia team, third. For its part, CN Altea was about to surprise the day but finally finished in fourth position, just two points off the podium. The final general is closed by RCN Palma, fifth, and RCR Alicante, sixth.
With the CN Arenal regatta already finished, the fleet will be measured again at RCN Calpe between October 15 and 17. On this occasion, it will be played aboard the Tom 28 monotypes. At the end of this second and last round of the Spanish Sailing League 2021, the team that wins the absolute victory will be the national representative in the final of the European League.
