The actor Richard Gere, 78, and the Spanish Alejandra Silva, 38, have spent several days vacationing in the family house, on the beach of Bastiagueiro. These are houses on top of the sandy area with unbeatable views over the bay of Oleiros (La Coruña), which his grandfather had built years ago and which face the farm on the beach where the Franco family spent their summers.
As ABC has learned, the couple together with Alejandra’s parents and her grandmother Carmiña enjoyed a sardine in the surroundings of the house on Sunday on the occasion of the national holiday. It is not the first time that the couple rests in this heavenly refuge where, although they do not go unnoticed by the people of Oleira, they do they find the discretion they so long for. Alejandra spent the summer there since she was little and keeps very good memories. These days they have been seen dining at a seafood restaurant in the area and walking along the beach. The Gere have traveled accompanied by three of their four children: Albert, the fruit of Silva’s first marriage, and the little ones in the house, Alexander, 2 years old, and the 21-month-old baby who was born during the pandemic and whose name is unknown. A pregnancy that did not transcend any image and not even the happy parents shared a snapshot on their social networks.
The Gere couple became interested a year ago in a plot in an exclusive area of the beach, an operation that seems to have failed to materialize. Rumors also spread that the actor was going to shoot a movie in La Coruña and that a production company had been looking for accommodation in the area. Something that has not happened at the moment.
Since the couple met, the actor’s presence in Spain has intensified, although now They had not been seen around here for more than a year. Since the pandemic, the entire family has been confined to their ranch outside New York. And the last image they shared together was on March 28 to show their support for the Spanish NGO Proactiva Open Arms, dedicated to rescue at sea.
But not all are joys in the family. A month ago ‘El Confidencial’ published that a judge in Madrid had resumed the auction of several properties belonging to Alejandra’s father, Ignacio Silva Boots. The lawyer and former Real Madrid director owes 24 million euros to Novo Banco (formerly Banco Espíritu Santo) for a loan that was granted to him. At the moment, the auctioned properties of his estate have not been enough to pay off this important debt. Without a doubt, the visit of his daughter, his grandchildren and his son-in-law have been his best balm.
