Saxony remains the state with the highest corona infection rate.

Dresden – The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the seven-day incidence on Tuesday at 483.7. That was a little lower than on Monday, but still the highest value of all federal states. Nationwide, the incidence climbed to 213.7 – higher than ever since the beginning of the pandemic. The value indicates how many new infections per 100,000 inhabitants were reported within seven days.

According to the RKI, 1545 new cases were added in Saxony. The highest incidence of the 13 regions in the Free State was found in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district at 864.2. After the Miesbach district in Bavaria, that was the second highest value in Germany. The district of Meißen, with a value of 723.5, is also among the ten districts in Germany with the strongest infection rate.
