With the Pedrera as a backdrop (for the first time), there are more than 20 firms that will exhibit next week all their novelties on the catwalks of the house designed by Gaudí. Simplicity, learning after the pandemic and the Catalan seal are three of the central axes of the collections that will be unveiled.
This will be the 27th edition of the event. For this occasion, the brands previously prepared the recordings of the presentation of their garments, which were made days ago inside and outside the modernist building. In addition to the content itself, those who attend the event in a virtual way will be able to access a ‘behind the scenes’ in which they will have access to the backstage of the assembly and staging of the 080.
The first to go on stage next Monday at 6:00 p.m. will be the signature Avellaneda. Of Barcelona origin, this brand is the one chosen by several celebrities when it comes to dressing. On this occasion, the firm will present its collection ‘La nuit éclairée’, which appeals to recover beauty, joy and fun in such a confusing time in the world.
Half an hour later, at 6:30 p.m., it will be the turn of Menchén Tomas, the signature of Olga Menchén who works mainly in ready-to-wear clothing, party wear and wedding dresses. In this case, the name of the collection that he will present at 080 already anticipates the magic of his garments: Duende. This proposal appeals to the mysterious and the inexplicable and incorporates “long skirts and dresses where the cut and patterns of the fabric create different narratives,” according to the brand on the official website of the event. The colors that stand out are porcelain blue, apple green or mandarin orange.
The afternoon of the first day of parades will feature the firms Eñaut (born in 2018, the brand will conquer the catwalks of La Pedrera at 7:00 p.m.) and The Label Edition (the company based in Barcelona will make its virtual presentation around 7:30 p.m.). The night in the modernist building will begin with the exhibition of garments from Antonio Marcial about 20 hours. The company, born in the 1980s by the brothers Custo and David Dalmau, will present its collection called ‘Wake Up World’ at around 8.30 pm on this day.
