Government of Navarra, the
Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda and
ADIF have agreed to definitively locate the future high-speed train station in the Echavacoiz neighborhood of Pamplona. This is the main compromise reached in the meeting held this afternoon in Madrid between Minister of Territorial Cohesion, Bernardo Ciriza, and the President of ADIF, María Luisa Domínguez. In this way, a solution to a question raised more than 20 years ago is solved.
“Today a decisive step has been taken for the arrival of high speed to our Community. Pamplona will have an economically and environmentally sustainable station that responds to current and future needs, thus advancing two key objectives for the current Government of Navarra, such as social and territorial cohesion and sustainable mobility ”, has influenced the Minister of Territorial Cohesion, Bernardo Ciriza.
It should be noted that, at the meeting, it was also decided to separate the construction of the future station from the simultaneous development of the Echavacoiz PSIS.
In the meeting, the General Director of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Berta Miranda, General Director of Public Works and Infrastructures, Pedro López, General Director of Construction of ADIF, Juan Pablo Villanueva Beltramini, Director of Functional Planning, Carlos Juárez Colera, Deputy Director General of Railway Planning of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Jorge Ballesteros, as well as the deputy for Navarra, Santos Cerdán.
It should be remembered that it is ADIF High Speed who is entrusted with the execution of the journey between Castejón (link with the route Zaragoza-Logroño) and Pamplona, since the construction works of the Navarrese high speed corridor It is the exclusive competence of the General State Administration.
