The lack of control with the illegal parties in the capital does not stop. The Municipal Police of Madrid has detected this weekend another 227 clandestine celebrations in the city, developed between Friday night and Saturday. The common denominator is that the participants did not wear masks or comply with the security measures against Covid-19, with more than 6 people not living together and without respecting the curfew schedule.
Among the most prominent interventions on Friday is the eviction of three tourist flats in a building in the Centro district. Municipal sources detailed that a total of 44 complaints were imposed for non-compliance with sanitary measures. The same day there were two detainees for assaulting two officers when they were performing at one of the celebrations.
24 hours later, the trend did not change and illegal events numbered in the hundreds, with the police intervening in dozens of them. Again, the Centro district was the most conflictive, with special relevance to a party in a local, with the eviction of 37 people. The 227 interventions follow the average of previous weekends, with between 200 and 300 irregular meetings.

The problem of illegal parties is one of the concerns of the administrations in the fight against the pandemic, in the middle of the third wave and with young people as the group with the most infections. On this, precisely, the president of the Community of Madrid has pronounced this Sunday, Isabel Diaz Ayuso, who has condemned this behavior: “They are the culprits in 80% of cases of Covid-19 infections.” “It cannot be that the same people always pay it, the hoteliers, merchants, businessmen and citizens with very harsh confinements while these events are taking place, which are the ones that are spreading the virus the most,” he added, during an act in Humanes.
For his part, the mayor of the capital, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, has also criticized these parties in an act in the capital and has warned that they will not “give respite” to the attendees “because they are tourists of other nationalities.” The councilor has also declared his concern about the “very numerous” illegal parties that take place in Madrid and has appealed to the youth and those who participate in these meetings to stop.
