Methamphentamine, ketamine, cash (6,000 euros), anabolics (testosterone), Viagra, popper and several mobile phones are some of the products found during the search of the properties of dancer and choreographer Rafael Amargo, arrested last Tuesday night, and his producer, Eduardo de los Santos. The artist has been transferred throughout this morning from the Centro district police station to the Plaza de Castilla courts to answer before a judge for the accusations that led to his arrest on Tuesday for drug trafficking and belonging to a criminal group.

Specifically, they are 60 grams of methamphetamine (the substance with which they allegedly trafficked in party areas of Chueca and Malasaña) and Ketamine 40.

Sources of the investigation have indicated to Efe that Amargo is expected to go to court at midmorning after being arrested in the dungeons of the Centro police station, located on Leganitos street, since last Tuesday night.

The dancer was arrested around eight o’clock in the afternoon this Tuesday at the Teatro La Latina in Madrid after finishing a rehearsal of his new work, which he expected to present this Thursday.

Three other people were also arrested, including the artist’s partner and his producer, after a laborious investigation that has taken the agents on the artist’s track for more than a year.

The operation is under secret by court order, although sources have specified that Amargo is in principle charged with a crime of belonging to criminal group and another drug trafficking group.

The dancer took advantage of his right not to testify before the National Police and it was yesterday Wednesday when he received a visit from his lawyer, Cándido Conde Pumpido, who assured Efe that the artist only had “small amounts for consumption.”

The lawyer described as “nonsense” the fact that the Police place Amargo “at the top of a criminal organization that should be making a lot of money”, when “we all know that Rafa is not in his best economic moment.”

“If that organization existed, it wouldn’t have any kind of financial problem. It is another indication that things are not as they are told, “added the lawyer, who is in charge of the defense of Amargo, his partner and his producer. Conde-Pumpido trusts that the artist will be released in order to premiere his show Yerma at the Teatro de La Latina.
