The Barcelona event becomes one more year the great automotive showcase, with more than 20 brands attending the event that will present 15 new car models and three personal mobility vehicles, with electrification as the main protagonist.
And it is that the novelties present in Automobile Barcelona do not end with four-wheelers. The firms Spin, belonging to Ford, and Ray, both focused on the so-called VMPs or personal mobility vehicles, present three new models in Barcelona: the Spin S-300, an electric bicycle; the Spin 2.3 with Drover, an electric scooter equipped with artificial intelligence; and the Ray 7.7, an electric scooter with which the Catalan brand Ray Electric Motors has made its debut in the mobility industry.
For its part, in the exhibition area, in Hall 3, NIU is present with all the series of the 100% electric scooter range and the revolutionary KQi3 scooter. In the exhibition area, the MQi GT models stand out, the brand’s first scooter designed specifically for the European market, with unbeatable performance, autonomy and technology; the MQi + Sport, an electric scooter with very compact dimensions that stands out for its ease of use, maneuverability, autonomy of up to 65 km; the UQi GT, a lightweight 14 ”wheeled scooter in the electric moped category that stands out for its elegance and agility; and the NQi GT Cargo, destined to the transport of food at home or small parcel.
Seat also exhibits at the Show the urban mobility solutions of SEAT MÓ, the business unit that, in just one year, already has in its portfolio the 100% electric motorcycle SEAT MÓ 125, two models of electric scooter (SEAT MÓ 25 and SEAT MÓ 65) and is present in the main European markets. In addition, it has established itself as one of the main motosharing operators with more than 700 motorcycles in Barcelona.
On the other hand, Honda also has the new Africa Twin and the X-ADV, two of its most acclaimed motorcycles, on display at its stand. The Africa Twin is a model that continues to be synonymous with history and adventure. In addition to the design updates, for 2022 it also incorporates changes to the Double Clutch Transmission (DCT) to further improve its handling, as well as other novelties that make it even more practical and versatile. As for the X-ADV, a true two-wheeled SUV, it has received a major update with improvements to the engine and the cycle part, accompanied by a new, more aggressive look and new technologies, such as the Honda Smartphone Voice Control system to connect the motorcycle with the smartphone.
Finally, BMW exhibits among its wide range of electric cars, its Definition CE 04, the electric scooter of the future. The design is conditioned by the extra-flat batteries located in the chassis, to lower the center of gravity and thus facilitate a more agulous and dynamic driving, and by a compact electric motor, breaking with the usual aesthetics in scooters. The body houses an easily accessible, illuminated, side-access storage space for storing helmet and other gear. The minimalist design is enhanced by two U-shaped LED lights on the front.
